Review by Jess Moore
In November of 2009, two Brockport dance alum embarked on a journey to create a new modern dance company; Treeline Dance Works. Based out of both Chicago and New York City, Jenny Showalter and Lyndsey Vader have accomplished just that and more. Treeline Dance Works has performed work in 28 showcases in 9 states with 15 dancers including other Brockport dance alum, Erin Johnson, Jess Reidy and Caroline Nelson.
Their work has been performed at DUMBO Dance Festival, Rebound Dance Festival,
Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival and Green Space Blooms. Following the launch of an individual funraising campaign, TreelineDW was able to double their fundraising goals thanks to the generosity of family, friends and The College at Brockport faculty.
Just one year after it’s founding TreelineDW will present it’s first evening lengthconcert, InTransit, with special guest Don Halquist. The concert will make it’s debut in Muncie, IN following a residency at Ball State University. Don’t miss this exciting concert debut in New York City at The Center for Performance Research on November 6th!
